I shot a wedding yesterday with the amazing Andrew and Emily from the wedding film company Honey & Dear. Honey & Dear is the reinvention of Sorlie Arts which I raved about here. I was a huge fan when I blogged about them then and I’m an even bigger fan now.
I’ve shot quite a few weddings with video coverage. It doesn’t always go well. With some guys, they’re absolutely clueless about where they are or where I am. They’re always getting in my shots and they have no idea that the photography might also be important to the couple. Or they just want to set up on a tripod in the corner and document the event (not unlike a security camera).
Then there’s the companies that produce wedding films. True cinematographers. Honey & Dear fall into this camp. They’re considerate of me and my work (a consideration I try to return). They produce real art with real emotion. And they hustle. Here’s the film that they shot, edited and screened at the wedding I shot yesterday.
